Ysgol Bro Hiraeth is a fictional bilingual secondary school in Wales. Its name means roughly “the school of the land of hiraeth”, the Welsh longing for home. Its staff, policies, timetable and dates are made up. Any resemblance to a real school is not intended.

Ysgol uwchradd ddwyieithog ffuglennol yng Nghymru yw Ysgol Bro Hiraeth. Mae ei henw’n golygu, yn fras, “ysgol gwlad yr hiraeth”. Mae ei staff, ei pholisïau, ei hamserlen a’i dyddiadau wedi’u dyfeisio. Does dim bwriad iddi fod yn debyg i unrhyw ysgol go iawn.

The AI is real. It answers from the school’s made-up documents and from approved public websites such as the Welsh Government’s Hwb, and it runs on Boudica, a self-hosted AI platform, with no outside AI company involved.

Mae’r AI yn real. Mae’n ateb o ddogfennau ffug yr ysgol ac o wefannau cyhoeddus cymeradwy fel Hwb Llywodraeth Cymru, ac mae’n rhedeg ar Boudica, platfform AI hunan-letyol, heb unrhyw gwmni AI allanol.

The AI model, the information it reads and the questions people ask all stay on a server the school (or its local authority) controls. Nothing is sent to an outside AI company, and nobody’s questions are used to train someone else’s product.

Mae’r model AI, y wybodaeth y mae’n ei darllen a’r cwestiynau y mae pobl yn eu gofyn i gyd yn aros ar weinydd y mae’r ysgol (neu ei hawdurdod lleol) yn ei reoli. Does dim yn cael ei anfon at gwmni AI allanol, a dydy cwestiynau neb yn cael eu defnyddio i hyfforddi cynnyrch rhywun arall.

The Welsh on this site was written with AI help and is being checked by Welsh speakers. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.

Ysgrifennwyd y Gymraeg ar y wefan hon gyda help AI ac mae siaradwyr Cymraeg yn ei gwirio. Os gwelwch chi gamgymeriad, rhowch wybod i ni.
